Senior Technical Implementation Consultant – TMS

About the role

The Senior Technical Implementation Consultant will lead the implementation of the RF-SMART Transportation Management System (TMS) product, focusing on design, configuration, testing, and supporting the full implementation process. This role requires a strong understanding of transportation operations, freight management, and supply chain best practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose transportation network challenges and translate operational gaps into clear solution designs.
• Serve as a Trusted Advisor across freight management, carrier management, multi-modal transportation, shipment visibility, and freight cost optimization.
• Review and refine requirements, specifications, and business process recommendations to ensure alignment with customer goals and RF-SMART's implementation standards.
• Channel real customer experience back to the product team, translating field observations into actionable enhancement recommendations.
• Own the full implementation lifecycle as the primary customer contact, leading design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live activities.
• Diagnose and resolve configuration and data layer issues to protect project timelines and customer trust.
• Drive all project milestones from functional specification through go-live, including integration testing, user acceptance, and post-launch support.
• Stay engaged beyond go-live as the primary support resource during the critical early market period, providing continuity for customers.
• Build productive relationships at every level of the customer organization to ensure alignment and smooth adoption.
• Partner with the Sales team on new opportunities, contributing to the sales process with implementation credibility and project estimates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in transportation management, logistics operations, or supply chain.
• Hands-on experience with TMS platforms and transportation systems, including freight visibility tools, EDI connectivity, and carrier integrations.
• Strong technical skills, including reading system logs, interpreting API payloads, performing complex field mapping, working with FreeMarker templates, writing custom rules, and troubleshooting integration issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent implementations independently without losing momentum on any of them.
• Must be located in Jacksonville, FL, with the ability to travel 30% or more, with higher frequency expected during the initial launch and customer ramp period.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of ERP supply chain software, with NetSuite experience being a strong advantage.
• Project Management experience with ERP or TMS implementations, familiar with tools like MS Project or Smartsheet.
• Experience indirectly leading a team, or genuine interest in growing into a leadership role as the practice scales.
