Senior Technical Director

Responsible for providing business knowledge, project experience, and technical competence to support the growth of the Advanced Technology Facilities business. Supports the strategic direction of Advanced Technology Facilities Businesses Development group by marketing project delivery differentiators and value-added propositions to gain competitive advantage. Also supports client account managers and business development managers in positioning and developing clients and projects in the Americas region.

Responsibilities

  • Adopts and promotes the Exyte commitment to always provide a safe workplace that strives for an Incident and Injury Free environment where everyone goes home safe every day
  • Ensures company safety policies and the Site Specific Plan are proactively communicated and consistently enforced on all projects
  • Uses business knowledge, project experience, and technical competence to support the growth of the Advanced Technology Facilities business
  • Establishes oneself as an industry-recognized technical specialist in Advanced Technology Facilities
  • Applies high-energy, passion, and team approach to produce world-class projects and achieve company target margins
  • Introduces new ideas, methods, and innovative approaches to process and facility design problem-solving aimed at meeting challenging and changing client needs. Shares ideas, methods, and approaches with staff and design team members through mentoring
  • Participates in project programming activities
  • Trains and supports project teams to understand customer and regulatory expectations throughout the project life cycle
  • Ensures that designs are consistent with industry-accepted practice, leading-edge technologies, and special client-preferred features
  • Actively trains and mentors staff on ATF design issues, lessons learned, and best practices
  • Supports the strategic direction of Advanced Technology Facilities Businesses Development group by identifying project delivery differentiators and value-added propositions to gain competitive advantage
  • Supports client account managers and business development managers in positioning and developing clients and projects in the Americas region
  • Plans, organizes, and administers program activities to support the needs of our clients
  • Maintains contact with past project clients to develop leads and show interest in maintaining a relationship
  • Coordinates project team for proposal effort, strategy, and budget
  • Provides pre-sales support to evaluate project feasibility and develops preliminary designs to support sales efforts and project bids
  • Strengthens the company’s ability to compete for a wide range of project types in the field of Advanced Technology Facilities
  • Leverages project experience to strengthen the company’s project portfolio in the Americas region
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
  • Master’s degree and/or PhD preferred
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Preferred experience in a technology assessment role (trends, opportunities, challenges) within a high-tech industry environment
  • Experience implementing new technical initiatives within the organization with demonstrated ROI impact
  • Prior experience working in large hi-tech manufacturing facilities in any of the following roles: technology, operations, supply chain, capital equipment, or facilities planning
  • Customer service experience. Experience facing internal/external clients and mature industry audiences
  • Prior experience working in EPC services preferred
