About the Role
The firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join a growing team and take on a high-impact, multifaceted role. This is not a review-only position — the right candidate will be involved in client acquisition, relationship management, high-complexity return preparation and review, tax planning, and team leadership. The role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who is client-oriented, analytically driven, and ready to take on meaningful ownership within a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client acquisition efforts, converting prospective clients into active engagements and managing onboarding from start to finish
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for an established and growing book of individual and business clients, coordinating with their outside advisors as needed
- Prepare and review high-complexity tax returns for individuals and businesses, including fiduciary returns where applicable
- Drive proactive tax planning conversations focused on client tax savings and ongoing opportunities
- Research complex tax issues and develop well-reasoned resolutions
- Manage project workflow and prioritize across multiple engagements simultaneously
- Supervise and develop a staff of 2–4 team members, including staffing assignments and day-to-day oversight
- Apply strong data analytics and problem-solving skills to client situations with an organized, methodical approach
Requirements
- 5+ years of public accounting experience in individual and business taxation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation a plus
- CPA or EA preferred
- Prior experience managing client engagements and leading staff
- Fiduciary taxation experience is a plus
- Proficiency with ProFx or Access Tax preferred; experience with Word, Excel, QuickBooks (online and desktop), Adobe Pro, CFS Payroll, and BNA strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across a team
