Position Summary & Your Impact
Provide strategic leadership for complex tax engagements, serving as a key advisor to clients and a technical resource for internal teams.
Essential Duties
- Strategic Client Advisory: Advise on tax planning, transaction structuring, succession planning, and long-term tax minimization for high-net-worth individuals, multi-entity businesses, and cross-jurisdictional structures.
- Technical Oversight: Review highly complex tax returns to ensure technical accuracy, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and alignment with client goals.
- Ledger & Mentorship: Coach managers and senior associates through goal-setting, continuous feedback, and performance reviews to foster leadership development and succession planning.
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, documentation standards, and quality control to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across service lines—including assurance, advisory, and client accounting—to deliver integrated solutions.
- Business Development: Contribute to growth via client pitches, proposals, and pricing strategies; represent the firm at industry events and networking forums.
- Practice Management: Oversee resource allocation and engagement planning to ensure productivity and profitability. Meet annual billable hour and individual productivity targets.
Your Background
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in public accounting and tax preparation.
- Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA license required (or actively eligible).
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws with a proven ability to deliver strategic entity structuring and transaction advisory.
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in modern tax compliance software and digital research tools.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing, coaching, and developing multi-level teams across concurrent engagements.
- Communication: Exceptional skills to convey complex tax concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Commitment: Full-time commitment with flexibility to work additional hours during peak deadlines.
