About the role
We are on the hunt for an experienced and dynamic Senior Tax Manager to join our fast-paced and growing Accounting + Finance team. This position is integral to our organization, and we offer high visibility to leadership as an independent member of BDO. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, ready to take on complex tax-related projects, and have a keen eye for details.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Conduct thorough research and planning to minimize tax liabilities and risks.
- Implement tax strategies that align with the organization's business goals.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Serve as the primary contact for tax authorities and coordinate audits.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff members.
- Analyze and interpret tax regulations, keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation.
- Provide expert tax advice to senior management on business decisions.
- Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax information to non-tax professionals.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

$160,000 - $200,000 per year
