About the role
The Senior Tax Analyst plays a key role in supporting DePuy Synthes’ U.S. and international tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax filings, effective tax controls, and compliance with evolving tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns and related workpapers.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740, including effective tax rate analysis.
- Absorb and coordinate with internal stakeholders for indirect tax activities (e.g., sales/use, VAT).
- Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate tax-related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and documentation standards.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess potential impacts to the business.
- Support tax audits and inquiries by gathering documentation and coordinating responses with advisors.
- Contribute to tax planning initiatives and continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required). Master’s degree in Taxation or MBA (preferred).
- Required Experience and Skills: 4–6 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both. Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and reporting. Experience supporting income tax provisions under ASC 740. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners. Proficiency with Excel and tax or financial reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Preferred Experience in a multinational or regulated industry environment. Exposure to international tax concepts and transfer pricing. CPA or progress toward CPA certification. Experience with process improvement or automation initiatives. Familiarity with SOX controls and audit support.

Pay
The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $94,000.00 - $170,000.00 USD Annual
