We are looking for an accomplished Senior Tax & Accounting Manager to join a growing public accounting firm in Massachusetts. This position offers the opportunity to lead core accounting and tax operations while serving as a strategic resource for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate brings strong public accounting experience, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to guide teams in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Direct the daily workflow of the accounting and tax practice to ensure timely, accurate service delivery.
- Review complex tax filings for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals, providing guidance on accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation and finalization of financial statements and other essential client reports.
- Contribute hands-on support with tax preparation and broader accounting activities when business needs require it.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members by providing technical oversight, feedback, and role-specific guidance.
- Build lasting client partnerships by understanding business needs and delivering responsive, high-quality service.
- Advise clients on tax strategy and financial matters to support sound planning and informed decision-making.
- Support firm expansion efforts by contributing to client development and identifying opportunities to strengthen the practice.
- Promote adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and role-related requirements across engagements.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall practice performance.
Requirements
- Active CPA license.
- At least 5 years of experience in public accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
- Demonstrated background reviewing tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individual clients.
- Working knowledge of ProFx tax software.
- Experience using Accounting CS, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong understanding of taxation, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
