Senior Tax Accountant - Lakeland, FL (Full-Time) DOL

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced professional looking to take that next step in advancing their career path by accepting the engaging and fulfilling role as a Senior Tax Accountant in our Lakeland office location.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Support shareholders and managers in tax research, prepare responses to IRS and state notices, and manage client communications.
• Conduct tax planning projects and year-end strategies to identify tax-saving opportunities, reduce risk, ensure multi-jurisdictional compliance, and project estimated tax liabilities for clients.
• Train and mentor new staff; provide feedback, review work, and serve as a resource for technical and procedural questions.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Requirements

• Has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting related with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in accounting, OR a Master’s degree in Accounting related with at least one year of relevant experience in accounting.
• Expertise in Taxation (Corporate, Partnership, Estates, Individual), Auditing, Advanced Financial & Managerial Accounting and Reporting.
• The ability to conduct accounting/tax research, and possesses proficiency in using accounting software.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 40hrs/wk, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
