Senior Tax Accountant
About the Role
We are a privately held family office managing a diversified portfolio of operating companies and investments across multiple industries, including sports (Houston Astros), logistics, transportation, vineyards, general contracting, and other strategic investments. Our structure offers the complexity and sophistication of a multi-entity environment with the long-term perspective and agility of a private investment platform. We are seeking a Tax Senior to support federal and state tax compliance and planning across a broad portfolio of partnerships and investment structures. The ideal candidate brings strong technical partnership tax experience, enjoys working across varied industries, and is comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate federal and multi-state partnership income tax filings across a portfolio of entities.
- Assist with estimated payments, extensions, notices, and tax authority correspondence.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and internal accounting teams.
- Monitor and analyze changes in federal and state tax legislation and assess impact across the organization.
- Prepare direct tax filings and provide audit support.
- Participate in special research projects, transactions, and tax planning initiatives across the investment portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (master’s in taxation and/or CPA preferred).
- 4–8 years of tax experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both.
- Demonstrated experience with federal and state partnership tax compliance required.
- Strong understanding of partnership taxation concepts and multi-entity structures.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience with OneSource tax software is a plus.
