This is a hybrid role, which means that you will have the flexibility to work both onsite and at a distance. You will collaborate onsite at our Cashton Office Building in Cashton, WI for 4-8 days per month, and the rest of the time you can choose to work remotely or onsite.
Bonus
This position is eligible for a 3% annual incentive bonus based on cooperative and individual performance.
Summary Of Role
The Senior Tactical Planning Analyst serves as an advanced individual contributor responsible for strengthening the quality, integration, and effectiveness of CROPP’s mid- to long-term tactical supply plans. This role bridges strategic direction and detailed execution by leading complex scenario modeling, guiding planning standards, and ensuring alignment across supply, demand, and production inputs. The Senior Analyst acts as a subject matter expert and key partner to cross-functional stakeholders while providing informal leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship to Tactical Planning Analysts. The Tactical Plan Is Used To Build the monthly S&OP plan for the business Develop annual supply chain volumes that drive budgeted costs Provide volume forecasts for plants and warehouses Determine regional milk balance on an 18‑month rolling forecast Support strategic decisions on milk supply, product allocation, and surplus utilization Evaluate new growth opportunities Provide business scenarios to guide strategic decision-making
Tactical Planning & Scenario Leadership
- Lead the development and refinement of tactical planning scenarios, ensuring outputs are accurate, feasible, and aligned with business strategy
- Own complex scenario modeling, including tradeoff analysis across supply, inventory, capacity, and service
- Validate and challenge planning assumptions to improve plan reliability and decision quality
- Translate strategic direction into optimized tactical plans that balance financial, operational, and service objectives
Milk Supply & Network Optimization
- Conduct advanced analysis of regional utilization, and milk solids balancing across the planning horizon
- Provide recommendations on supply allocation, surplus utilization, and network optimization opportunities
- Identify risks and constraints within supply, inventory, and capacity, and develop mitigation scenarios
Systems Expertise & Model Management
- Serve as a subject matter expert in SAP IBP tactical planning models, including solver behavior, constraints, and network design
- Lead model tuning, scenario validation, and system troubleshooting for complex planning challenges
- Oversee master data integrity (BOMs, capacities, costs, transport lanes, inventory policies) and ensure alignment with planning objectives
- Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities and reporting tools
Decision Support & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Synthesize complex data into clear insights, scenarios, and recommendations for leadership decision-making
- Partner with Dairy Pools, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to align plans and assumptions
- Evaluate impacts of proposed changes (network, production, demand shifts) and recommend best-course actions
- Support development of the annual production budget and long-range planning scenarios
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, Agribusiness, Dairy Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred 7–10 years of experience in supply planning, S&OP, or tactical planning
- Technical & Analytical Skills: Advanced expertise in SAP IBP modeling, including solver behavior and constraint-based optimization Deep understanding of dairy supply chain dynamics, including milk components and seasonal variability Strong data analysis, modeling, and scenario-building skills Ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead through influence without direct authority Strong communication skills, with ability to translate complex analysis into business insights Proven ability to guide others, improve work quality, and drive aligned outcomes Systems thinker with strong business acumen
Pay
Base salary/hourly wage range: $80.641.60 per year - $100,817.60 per year This salary wage range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base salary wage compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the salary wage range and hiring at the maximum of the salary wage range is not typical.
