Senior Systems Specialist

About the role

Make an impact by optimizing the technology that keeps healthcare running smoothly. In this role, you'll serve as the functional expert for key business applications, partnering with end users, IT teams, and vendors to deliver effective solutions and improve system performance. You'll lead or support projects, troubleshoot moderately complex issues, and help drive process improvements across the organization. Preferred candidate will have experience in design & construction operations, maintenance management, and/or facility management.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis of customer needs, makes appropriate decisions, and provides resolution or product (e.g., online applications, electronic forms, moderate to complex reports).
• Serves as a liaison for application users or customers, including education, negotiation, and problem-solving tasks to deliver desirable outcomes.
• Maintains optimal operation of departmental applications in partnership with information technology or external software vendors (e.g., implementation, maintenance, testing, functional design).
• Represents assigned area on project teams with regional or company scope for system implementations, policy and practice changes, and process redesign; may manage a department program for the system.
• Prepares and distributes worksheets and reports; maintains databases.
• Stays current on industry and regulatory/compliance issues within assigned areas and provides education and consultation to customers.
• In some roles, supervises staff and has system-wide accountability within a department or functional area; participates on system project teams and provides input on policy changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related business discipline or computer science.
• 3 to 5 years of experience working with systems, as a functional "super-user" of an application in a similar department environment, or providing consultative input for application usage or design.
• Excellent working knowledge of typical word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database applications.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and human relation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with system implementation and project management.
• Additional experience with specialized applications in the related area.

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM with the expectation of being on-site as needed.
