Senior Systems Security Engineer (P3) (Onsite)
Location: Tewksbury, MA (onsite at 50 Apple Hill Dr, Sudbury Building)

About the role
Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Security Engineer (P3) to join our Systems Security Engineering (SSE) team. In this role, you will develop holistic security solutions leveraging cybersecurity, software assurance, and supply-chain risk management to protect embedded weapons systems and maintain the Warfighter’s technology advantage.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness.
- Support compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls.
- Consult and assist program management with SSE architecture and issues.
- Support the development of bids and proposals.
- Support security development and test efforts, including implementation of security controls for networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components.
- Integrate cybersecurity development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in system security engineering, computer technology reverse engineering, anti-tamper, cybersecurity, program protection, or embedded security.
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret or interim clearance prior to start).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with information security toolsets, including anti-virus, vulnerability assessment, HIDS/NIDS, host-based/endpoint security solutions, multi-factor authentication (MFA), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), and centralized auditing tools (familiarity with Splunk is preferred).
- Linux Bash or Python scripting experience.
- Experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
- Security systems engineering experience involving hardware, software, operating systems, and applications in stand-alone and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Experience with IT, network, and system security administration, including OS security configuration and account management for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco systems.
- Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of operating systems as defined by intelligence agencies.
- Understanding of systems engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and federal IA certification and accreditation processes.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Schedule
This is a full-time, onsite position. Candidates may be required to attend select interview steps in-person at one of our office locations.
