About the role

The Systems Engineering Integrated Systems department is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation). The Integrated Systems team leads all aspects of systems engineering that drive the development of complex systems supporting the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area from our Tewksbury, MA location. This is a full-time onsite position based in Tewksbury, MA.

Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Ability to obtain interim clearance is also required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute and collaborate in a team environment, receiving input from program or team experts and advancing discussions with your knowledge.
• Communicate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate design plans and requirements analysis.
• Evaluate work across a wide range of subject areas using your knowledge of performance engineering practices and procedures.
• Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
• Develop models to validate proposed architectures and designs against requirements, and help shape future technology growth.
• Develop and maintain modeling tools incorporating Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with complex time-domain elements.
• Analyze data to understand performance and perform root cause analysis.
• Incorporate radar system concepts, including detection, discrimination, track, and signal processing algorithms, to model their behaviors and analyze performance.
• Incorporate effector system concepts to model their behaviors and analyze performance.

Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with system modeling, algorithm development, test vectors, or analysis tools.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and/or Fortran.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with complex DSP, time-domain signal modeling, and system requirements development.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Background in radar concepts, including detection, discrimination, tracking, and signal processing algorithms.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, data analysis, statistics, and interpreting technical drawings/schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts, conduct studies, and present credible analytical results to stakeholders.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
