Responsibilities
- Supporting the TFDM program as the Leidos Systems Engineering (SE) Concurrent Engineering (CE) Lead.
- Providing cross-functional technical leadership, coordination and guidance for the TFDM program.
- Modernizing the air traffic control tower equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing electronic flight strips.
- Streamlining the schedule sequence of departures to improve efficiency on the surface.
- Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities between the gate and the tower.
- Systems Engineering (SE) Concurrent Engineering (CE) Lead providing direction, coordination and guidance to the TFDM engineering team working on TFDM SIG/CRs, Change Request implementation and site deployment activities.
- Daily focus on driving technical teams, ensuring complex TFDM system solutions align with mission and contractual requirements.
- Managing and monitoring schedules, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet program goals.
- Cooking and prioritizing tasks and ensuring on-time completion.
- Developing and delivering progress reports and presenting to internal/external engineering management and program management.
- Identifying and assessing dependencies and issues and developing recommendations for solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Reviewing and ensuring the quality of deliverables and work products across the team.
- Serving as a technical interface with the FAA customer to address/answer questions relating to the developed requirements, use cases describing human interactions and design decisions.
- Performing hands on Systems Engineering work as needed for the TFDM system.
- Providing on-site Transition support at the TFDM sites.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership abilities along with strong Systems Engineering technical skills.
- Systems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects gathering user requirements and converting them into system requirements.
- Proven experience with supporting highly critical customer missions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience: Working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives, Interfacing with other functional areas (e.g. Software, Hardware).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Typically requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
