Senior Systems Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team providing technical support to Business Development, to include Advanced Concepts investigations, proposals, and IRADs.
• Serve as a liaison between BD and Engineering within the team to promote cooperation, communication, and coordination.
• Lead cross-functional innovation teams; and maintain in-depth knowledge of DRS engineering capabilities.
• Lead the development of technical approaches, solution architectures, compliance matrices, make-buy inputs, technical volumes, and risk-reduction plans (including prototype or demo concepts when needed).
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to lead a technical group independently
• Working knowledge of military specifications and standards
• Base knowledge of relevant CAD/CAM processes and tools
• Conversant in modern US military organization, doctrine, equipment, and acquisition process
• Demonstrates systems-thinking, customer-oriented business perspective
• Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time
