About the role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be a key member of a technical team responsible for the system definition, design, integration, and test of next-generation inertial measurement and navigation products/solutions for aircraft, UAVs, missiles, land vehicles, and sea platforms. This role focuses on leadership and oversight of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) development activities.
Responsibilities
- Turn customer requirements and needs into digital models using MBSE tools, including Cameo EA and other systems engineering tools.
- Integrate enterprise tools and develop MBSE-based processes to support requirements engineering, schedule management, test and verification strategy development, and system integration for new initiatives.
- Facilitate collaboration between MBSE users and the tool development team to communicate modeling needs and innovate potential solutions.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to managers on the creation and implementation of new MBSE methods and techniques.
- Support new product development processes and discipline across the company.
- Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, judgment, cooperation, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Perform assigned tasks within defined project schedules and budgets.
- Support senior project engineers and program managers in interfacing with commercial and military customers for technical program definition and execution.
- Support new business pursuits and proposal preparation, addressing program technical requirements, schedules, and costs.
- Travel approximately 15% for customer reviews and meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering and/or Master of Science/Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in MBSE.
- 4+ years of aerospace and/or defense systems engineering, integration, and test experience.
- Experience in requirements management, including requirements capture, traceability, flow-down, and decomposition using IBM DOORS or comparable tools.
- Strong knowledge (proficiency preferred) in Cameo EA, DOORS, and Microsoft Office.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Skills
- Working knowledge of new product development processes.
- Familiarity with inertial navigation and GPS functionality (a plus).
- Ability to work in a team to define, implement, and demonstrate solutions for complex problems.
- Proficiency in using industry MBSE tools and modeling methodologies to produce systems engineering models supporting the system development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of architecture, requirements engineering, CONOPS development, verification, test, and system integration for end-to-end systems engineering.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Action-oriented with a drive for results.
Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $106,000 - $150,000 annually. Final offer may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal consistency.
