Senior Systems Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Possess experience and understanding of modern engineering tools, methods, and practices through Digital Engineering (DE), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Systems and Architectural design
• Possess experience in MBSE using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and common tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Cameo Enterprise Architect, etc.
• Conduct reviews to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications
• Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics
• Prepare reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles, delivering presentations to customers, leadership, and technical personnel
• Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems
• Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight
• Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness
• Conduct concepts and requirements analyses support services including, but not limited to, reviewing and analyzing: Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Capability Production Documents (CDDs), Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Military Utility Assessments (MUAs), Concepts of Operation (CONOPs), Technology Development Strategies, Functional Configuration Audits/Physical Configuration Audits (FCAs/PCAs), and Technology Standards Profiles

Salary

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Education and Experience

• Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
• Master's degree in related field and twelve (12) years of relative experience, five (5) of which must be in the DoD
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and fifteen (15) years of relative experience, five (5) of which must be in the DoD
• Twenty (20) years of relative experience, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD

Preferred Qualifications

• Possesses the advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be considered an expert in Model Based Systems Engineering and traditional Systems Engineering
• Possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in Model Based Systems Engineering and traditional Systems Engineering

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
• Must be able to travel, including air travel
