Senior Systems Engineer
About the role
withcontent. Then responsibilities: The posting lists many bullet-like items under "In this role, you can expect to ..." then a list of responsibilities: macOS Platform and Endpoint Management Platform Ownership, Software Delivery, Automation & Reusable Tooling, Provisioning, Scripting & API Integration, Security, Governance, and Compliance (with subpoints), Standards, Collaboration, and Mentorship (with subpoints). We need to extract responsibilities as list items. We need to decide sections: Could have Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We have Pay: base salary $152k-$210k, plus bonus, equity, benefits. Benefits: described later: in-office policy, backup child/elder/pet care, subsidized commuter benefits, comprehensive health/financial/wellbeing benefits, generous vacation, company-wide paid days off, 1% time off for community, annual wellness stipend, up to 22 weeks paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing, access to family planning reimbursement, etc. Schedule: The posting mentions in-office work policy: four days a week in office and Fridays from home for those near one of our offices, plus team and company-wide events depending on location. Also fully remote program. So schedule info exists. We also have "After-hours/on-call rotation" mentioned earlier: after-hours/on-call rotation for critical endpoint and device-management issues. Rotation frequency etc communicated during interview. That could be part of Schedule? Might be considered schedule. We'll include schedule section with that info. Now Requirements/Qualifications/Skills: The posting has "To thrive in this role, you have Experience:" then bullet list of required experience. Then "Nice-to-have" list. We need to separate required vs nice-to-have? The instruction: Use sections only when posting has real specific content. We could have Requirements (mandatory) and Qualifications (maybe nice-to-have) or Skills. But we need to avoid thin sections. Could combine Requirements and Qualifications into one section? But we have to follow headings list: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can include those that have content. We have Responsibilities (yes). Requirements (the mandatory experience list). Qualifications (maybe the nice-to-have). Skills (maybe the scripting/proficiency etc). But there is overlap. We need to decide. Better: Use Requirements for the mandatory experience list. Use Qualifications for the nice-to-have list. Use Skills for technical proficiencies like scripting languages, etc. However the mandatory list already includes many skills (AutoPkg, Apple Platform Depth, macOS Fundamentals, Scripting, Security Model, Cross-Domain Judgment, Working in Ambiguity, Communication). Those could be considered Skills. But we can keep Requirements as the experience years and core competencies, and Skills as the specific technical proficiencies (like scripting languages, Jamf, etc). However the instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe we combine Requirements and Qualifications into one section? But headings are prescribed; we can omit sections if no content. We could have only About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements (covering both mandatory and nice-to-have), Benefits, Pay, Schedule. That would be fewer sections. But we need to follow the instruction: "Use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." It says e.g., meaning those are examples; we can use those headings if we have content. It doesn't say we must use all. So we can choose subset.
Thus we can output:
About the role
...
Responsibilities
- ... ...
Requirements
- ... ...
- but spec says use
- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. It didn't forbid nesting. We can keep flat list with dash separated? Better to keep each bullet as a separate
- and include subpoints as part of same sentence separated by semicolons. But we can also nest. I'll keep flat but include subpoints as separate
- with indentation via text. Simplify: each main bullet as
- containing the description including subpoints. Now Requirements (mandatory): From "To thrive in this role, you have Experience:" list: - 8+ years of hands-on experience managing macOS at scale with enterprise MDM (e.g., Jamf Pro, Kandji, Mosyle) and/or open-source tooling (e.g., Munki, Puppet, Chef). - AutoPkg: Production experience building and operating AutoPkg recipes, overrides, trust controls, and automated promotion into an enterprise MDM environment is required. - Apple Platform Depth: In-depth understanding of Apple’s MDM protocol and Configuration Profile specifications, including the shift to Declarative Device Management. - macOS Fundamentals: In-depth understanding of installers and packages, LaunchDaemons and LaunchAgents, the preferences subsystem, system extensions, macOS built-in security tooling (Endpoint Security Framework, SIP, XProtect, Gatekeeper, openBSM), and unified logs. - Scripting: Proficiency in at least one general-purpose or scripting language (e.g., Python, Swift, Bash, Go) for API interaction and automation. - Security Model: Solid understanding of Zero Trust / BeyondCorp concepts and how endpoint posture feeds identity-based access decisions. - Cross-Domain Judgment: Track record of decisions spanning multiple systems, balancing scalability, compliance, cost, and long-term maintainability. - Working in Ambiguity: Comfort defining a problem before solving it, and aligning stakeholders around a technical direction. - Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences, including the structured documentation that scales understanding across a distributed team. Now Qualifications (nice-to-have): list: - Jamf Certified Admin (300/400) or equivalent demonstrated mastery of those knowledge domains. - Familiarity with Windows endpoint management (Intune/Endpoint Manager, PowerShell, MSI packaging, WMI, registry) – Windows is a smaller part of our fleet. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) for managing SaaS and MDM configuration. - Experience with osQuery, CrowdStrike, or comparable endpoint telemetry and EDR tooling. - Experience integrating endpoint management with Okta for device trust and conditional access. Now Benefits: from "What We Offer For Our Full-time, Regular Employees" and preceding bullet about base salary etc. Actually benefits include: in-office work policy (four days a week in office and Fridays from home for those near one of our offices, plus team and company-wide events depending on location; fully remote program). Backup child, elder, and pet care and subsidized commuter benefits for eligible employees. Comprehensive health, financial, and wellbeing benefits designed to support you at every stage of life. Generous vacation policy and company-wide paid days off. 1% of your time off to support local community organizations of your choice. Annual wellness stipend to use towards eligible wellness related expenses. Up to 22 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks of paid parental leave for non-birthing parents. Access to family planning reimbursement. A challenging and fulfilling opportunity to join one of the most experienced teams in FinTech and help millions unlock financial progress. Also mention diversity etc but that's boilerplate
