Senior Systems Administrator (PACS)
Position Responsibilities
Cover conduct and design of complex, enterprise Radiology IT configurations.
Implement IT integration across multiple Radiology imaging platforms.
Support departmental process improvement initiatives; Implement solutions that meet HCIS information protection requirements.
Implementation
Perform complex configuration and implementation of organization-wide Radiology IT solutions.
Ensure integration between related systems and adherence to all security requirements.
Documentation
Maintain documentation for all completed projects and deployed applications.
Assist with developing project plans and phases.
Participate in vendor discussions related to RFI and RFP processes.
Support
Maintain and monitor complex, organization-wide application deployments.
Participate in on-call responsibilities for complex and routine issues.
Seek opportunities to improve and streamline customer and application support processes.
Coordinate regularly with the hospital IT department.
Develop scripts to improve the management and support of Radiology IT systems.
Relationship Management
Coordinate with vendors to develop system deployment strategies.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization, including physicians, clinical staff, and vendor support teams.
Leadership
Lead project teams within the PACS division under the direction of the Team Manager.
Provide mentorship and assist in the development of new PACS team members.
Supervision Received
General supervision is received from the Manager of PACS and Image Support Systems.
Supervision Exercised
Administrative and functional supervision exercised over PACS Team during assigned project implementation.

Education Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or related educational field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience Requirements
5 years of experience working with computer hardware and operating systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems
Knowledge of networking and computer operating systems
Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Demonstrated ability to install, maintain and repair high performance workstation hardware
Demonstrated high mechanical aptitude
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Driver's license and ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Management Driver’s safety requirements
Ability to participate in on-call rotations and be able to return to University of Iowa Health Care within a 30 minute drive
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of network routing and switching technologies
Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
Knowledge of radiology imaging technologies
Knowledge of Linux operating systems
Experience participating in the RFP process
Experience working in a medical center environment
Experience in the assembly, installation, troubleshooting and repair of computer hardware and software
Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and ensure functionality
Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently or within a team environment
