Why This is an Exciting Role

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Intelligence Systems portfolio, is seeking a DevOps Developer to join our Mission Operations team in Herndon, VA. Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area which designs, builds, tests, deploys, operates, and maintains a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system administration tasks, to include infrastructure administration and automation, information security support and configurations, software and OS installation/updates, and follow configuration/change control processes.
  • Create new solutions to solve hard technical problems, and provide system support using best practices with modern and innovative tooling.
  • Support the design, validation and configuration management of computing systems, and monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, as well as generating reports on system performance, security, and compliance.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring compatibility and adherence to best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and security practices, and continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Required Education and Years of Experience: Advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).
  • Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance (Has been active in the past 24 months), U.S. Citizenship, 5+ years' experience in System Administration across Windows and Linux environments, In-depth knowledge and experience with various versions of Windows and Linux Servers, including installation, configuration, and administration, Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core services, Advanced troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities and able to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, Strong knowledge of security best practices, Experience with security auditing, vulnerability assessments, and incident response is also valuable, Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, and/or AHV.
  • Desired Qualifications: Expertise in on-premise virtualization (AHV, VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V, etc.) and/or cloud expertise (AWS or Azure), Experience with VDI infrastructure, monitoring infrastructure, securing infrastructure, Cloud, INFOSEC, and/or any recent IT certifications, Telework/Remote Availability: Telework/Remote work currently not authorized, Work Location(s): Herndon, VA.

Pay Range

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. $168,000 - $206,000
