What Success Looks Like
- Administer and support ClearPath OS2200 environments across installation, configuration, daily operations, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain system health, performance, availability, and capacity to ensure stable, secure, and efficient operations.
- Lead system upgrades, patching, maintenance, and environment changes using controlled ITIL change management practices.
- Configure and support core platform services including TCP/IP networking, batch processing, printing, storage, tape, and security controls.
- Analyze system performance trends, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement tuning improvements to optimize throughput and resilience.
- Create and maintain automation, monitoring, scripts, and operational tooling to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Respond to incidents, participate in on-call support, and provide escalation management during critical outages or service disruptions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Partner with internal teams and customers to deliver reliable managed services, support disaster recovery readiness, and drive continuous service improvement.
- Support installation of Plateau / Firmware, upgrades and IC’s. Able to create or update an SCMS II config.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in: ClearPath OS2200 system administration, Mainframe OS installation, configuration, and monitoring.
- Experience with: TCP/IP networking and certificates, system configuration, Workload automation tools (OpCon, Control-M, AMS), Tape and storage management (STAR, Disk, VTL), RDMS/DMS database environments and integration, Batch and transaction processing systems, ECL, SSG, IPF, etc.
