About the role
TechFlow Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a critical DOD program. The role involves administering, maintaining, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and availability of mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise servers, operating systems, virtual environments, and associated infrastructure supporting the customers platform
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including user account management, system monitoring, patch management, backups, and performance tuning
- Maintain accurate system administration logs, operational documentation, and configuration records
- Monitor system health, identify performance issues, and implement corrective actions to maximize system availability and efficiency
- Utilize established debugging tools, protocols, and diagnostic processes to isolate and resolve technical problems
- Respond to customer-reported incidents and service requests, providing timely resolution and effective communication throughout the support process
- Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to implement security controls, apply security patches, and maintain compliance with government security requirements
- Support system upgrades, software deployments, maintenance activities, and infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Afford disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and system restoration activities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration management records
- Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and provide on-call support as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration
- Experience conducting routine system administration activities and maintaining detailed system administration logs
- Experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise IT infrastructure supporting high-volume, high-availability environments
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across servers, operating systems, and supporting infrastructure
- Experience utilizing system debugging tools, troubleshooting methodologies, and diagnostic processes
- Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux server administration
- Experience with system monitoring, patch management, backup solutions, and performance optimization
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance
Compensation
$75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
