Primary Responsibilities
- Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues
- Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and hardware
- Conduct server builds
- Create complex operational databases, software configuration control and system interfaces for computer systems related to customer requirements
- Maintain file servers, network access; document, analyze and troubleshoot systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance
- Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of systems and perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Document and maintain servers, create monitoring reports and logs, and ensure functionality of system links
- Monitor systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establish backups, and monitor system security
- Apply appropriate OS and Application security patches in an expeditious manner
- Supervise technical staff; develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organization
- Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively
- Plan, execute, and adhere to backup policies and disaster recovery procedures
- Follow Authorized Service Interruptions procedures when appropriate
Required Qualifications
- TS or Secret w/SSBI (Tier 5 Investigation)
- DoD 8570 IAT II (e.g., Security + CE)
- One of the following certifications: MCSA Server 2016, Azure Administrator AZ-104 , or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate level of experience based on position level
- 1-5 years of System Admin experience
Shift Work and Travel
Shift work may be required to support real-world or contingency operations. Some travel may be required.
Desired Qualifications / Experience
- MCSE certification
- Extensive troubleshooting and problem resolution experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communications skills
- Active Directory, GPO, and account maintenance experience
- A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use an engineering implementation plan and make it work from cradle to grave
- Has or is willing to expand their IT skills to include Linux, networking, or mission-related applications
