Senior Systems Administrator

About the role

The Senior Systems Administrator leads the management and maintenance of CNM’s computer systems and networks. This technical-lead role provides multi-level system administration and support for Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems with minimal supervision, oversees installation, configuration, and security of hardware and software, and guides a team of system administrators.

Responsibilities

• Provides top-tier support for Microsoft, Linux, and VMware operating systems and services.
• Installs, configures, and maintains server hardware and software for a stable computing environment.
• Develops and maintains decentralized data backup infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manages user and group accounts, setting access rights for IT support personnel and end users.
• Updates software and system configurations regularly.
• Responds to zero-day exploits and critical vulnerabilities promptly.
• Sets up and maintains servers and applications for enterprise services, databases, and web hosting.
• Monitors system logs, login activity, and system performance across the network.
• Administers cross-platform email systems and troubleshoots issues.
• Researches new technologies and presents recommendations on major and minor hardware and software purchases.
• Ensures high availability and stability for Tier 1 systems.
• Researches, installs, and tests software updates prior to deployment.
• Provides technical leadership, guidance, and support to IT groups and stakeholders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field and two (2) years of work experience, or
• Associate’s degree and two (2) to four (4) years of related industry experience, or
• Six (6) years of direct work experience with IT-related certification(s).
• A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements of the position.

Pay

$90,605.00 – $115,503.00 annual salary
