Job Summary
ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join their Voice Communication System (VCS) team at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTCAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The candidate will work within a system engineering team to support the FAA's VCS program.
Responsibilities
- Work independently and as a team in an agile environment to oversee integration and deployment of network management software.
- Interface with third-party data collection streams and establish workflows to automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring of hardware/software systems.
- Configure, remotely manage, and troubleshoot test/lab equipment, including performing root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with software and hardware development teams for requirements, integration, and testing activities.
Requirements
- Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement: Must be a US Citizen, hold a US Green Card, or have a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
- Education & Experience Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Five to nine years of related work experience.
- Knowledge/Experience: Operating Systems (RHEL, Windows), scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python), network analysis tools (Wireshark, Stablenet), system monitoring tools (Zabbix, SNMP), routing and networking technologies, ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Log aggregation and reporting (ELK/Opensearch, Splunk), system security management and intrusion detection tools (IdM, SSL, IPSec/VPN, SELinux, AIDE), telecommunications protocols (SIP/RTP, ED-137), virtualization (ESXi, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization), data replication and storage (DBRD, NAS/SAN).
