Senior System Administrator with Top Secret/SCI Clearance

About the role

As a Prime Government Contractor, we are seeking a talented Senior System Administrator with an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance to support a major government institution in Huntsville, Alabama. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily system administration tasks on Windows and/or Linux servers, including user account management, patching, and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
• Provide Tier 1/2 user support for technical issues, including VTC setup and troubleshooting, account resets, and software support.
• Escalate complex issues to senior specialists or external vendors as needed.
• Monitor security logs, respond to alerts, and assist with incident response and remediation activities.
• Ensure systems are backed up and disaster recovery plans are tested.
• Provide skilled technical support across all performance areas as assigned by the Team Lead, adapting to emerging technologies and requirements.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance (required).
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant IT experience in an enterprise environment.
• Proven hands-on skills in network and system administration, troubleshooting, COMSEC, and customer support within a secure environment.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+, CCNA, RHCSA, MCSA, or any IAT Level II certification (required).
