Maximus is hiring a Senior System Administrator focused on cloud platforms, providing subject-matter expertise for process improvement, specialized studies, and requirements definition.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, plan, develop procedures, and create functional architectures for technical and management tasks.
- Support deployments of the JCO and JCC2-R systems on the JCC2 AWS environment as needed.
- Serve as a member of the Fast Action Support Team, providing critical and time-sensitive analysis of application issues and recommending actions such as hotfixes or rollbacks.
- Participate in limited quarterly travel to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
- Support timely deployment of hotfixes and patches when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- 10+ years of IT systems administrative experience with both Microsoft and Linux platforms.
- Two years of proficient experience maintaining (patching, STIG, and upgrade processes) AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience with system administration and development best practices in AWS.
- Experience with security and compliance of DoD Gov Cloud-hosted infrastructure.
- IAT Level II certification.
- Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility (role is hybrid in San Antonio, TX).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- AWS SysOps Administrator certification.
- Red Hat certification.
- Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKAD or similar).
- Experience deploying, managing, and supporting Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
- Experience operating and maintaining containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity managing Kubernetes resources such as namespaces, deployments, services, ingress, and storage.
- Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker).
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD software development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., GitLab, CI/CD tooling).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or Kustomize.
- Familiarity with secrets management tools such as Vault.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or Google Cloud a plus) in Linux environments.
Pay
Annual salary range: $140,000 – $190,000. Maximus offers a total compensation package that may include short- and long-term incentives, program-specific awards, health insurance, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
