About the role

Your combination of people skills and system administrator expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. We’re looking for a system administrator who specializes in Cloud systems management to help us ensure our client's current infrastructure is functional and available. As a Cloud system administrator on our project, you’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management through your delivery of world-class tier three systems support. Your cloud system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a cloud system administrator leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network so your clients achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the AWS/Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements
  • Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions
  • Onboard users into the cloud environment
  • Manage user base within the cloud environment
  • Develop and implement policy-driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss
  • Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed or modernized
  • Ensure all resource components meet proper performance and capacity standards
  • Innovate and implement new technologies to advance mission readiness

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in an IT field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator managing production Windows Servers and implementing top-tier security practices within an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure involving design, deployment, configuration, and optimization
  • Experience with analysis, troubleshooting, and system design
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell to automate tasks and implement automated provisioning workflows and developing solutions that utilize APIs, including documentation and making requests using tools
  • Ability to ensure client OS and instances follow STIG and ACAS findings to meet STIG security and mission requirements and develop automated provisioning for deploying resources and services in cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their APIs and services, provisioning networking and security resources and policies
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • IAT Level II Compliant Certification
  • Ability to obtain DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator - Intermediate level or higher by October 1, 2026

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of government PAAS or SAAS
  • MCSA – Cloud Platform, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect Associate, CompTIA Cloud Essentials, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
