We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our Epicor/Kinetic ERP environment and related systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with a practical understanding of manufacturing processes and strong stakeholder communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Epicor/Kinetic ERP systems, including configuration, user management, security, and performance tuning.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain BAQs, dashboards, and SSRS reports to meet business and manufacturing reporting needs.
- Design, implement, and support BPMS workflows and process automation tied to ERP transactions and manufacturing operations.
- Perform SQL Server administration and T-SQL development for data extraction, reporting, performance troubleshooting, and backups.
- Lead ERP upgrades, patching, testing, and release activities, including rollback planning and coordination with stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and integration issues; provide on-call support for critical incidents and after-hours maintenance when required.
- Manage integrations between ERP and external systems (APIs, middleware, EDI), ensuring data integrity and reliable message flows.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production planning, and operations teams to translate business requirements into system configurations and process improvements.
- Document system configurations, procedures, runbooks, and operational knowledge; deliver training and knowledge transfer to end users and support teams.
- Work with vendors and third-party consultants for specialized support, licensing, and implementation tasks; oversee contractor deliverables and escalation paths.
- Monitor system health, security, and compliance; implement best practices for access control, patch management, and disaster recovery readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on ERP administration experience, preferably with Epicor/Kinetic in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience building and maintaining BAQs and developing SSRS reports.
- Practical experience with BPMS or workflow automation tools tied to ERP processes.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and T-SQL development.
- Experience with system integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, EDI) and troubleshooting cross-system data flows.
- Familiarity with manufacturing concepts (MRP, shop floor control, production scheduling) and how they map to ERP functionality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of diagnosing complex application and database issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working across IT, operations, and executive teams.
- Relevant certifications (Epicor, Microsoft SQL Server, ITIL) are a plus.
- Willingness to participate in occasional after-hours maintenance and on-call rotation.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
