Senior SysOps Engineer

About the Opportunity

The Senior SysOps Engineer leads cloud environment implementations, ensures operational stability, and enhances automation within cloud operations. This role provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, resolves complex production issues, and collaborates across teams to uphold service quality and efficiency. The position is critical for delivering scalable cloud solutions and maintaining high standards of operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver automated and scalable solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure alignment with operational SLA, cost, and automation targets.
• Lead customer environment implementations and migrations.
• Oversee environment upgrades and maintenance.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex issues and lead root cause analysis.
• Mentor early and mid-career engineers.
• Develop and update operational procedures.
• Monitor environments to detect and resolve issues proactively.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident responses.
• Manage incident communications and drive remediation plans.
• Conduct disaster recovery testing and support compliance readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Test and implement new products and services.
• Provide effective customer service and technical expertise.
• Influence architectural discussions for operational success.
• Automate provisioning, monitoring, and scaling of cloud environments.
• Support audit readiness, security, and compliance efforts.
• Assist with internal projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years in cloud operations or related roles.
• Strong expertise in enterprise IT and cloud systems.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, OS, networking, and security.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-As-Code tools like Terraform and ARM templates.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and supporting tools (PowerShell, KQL, Azure Policy).
• Experience with IT compliance and policy development.
• Ability to manage complex initiatives independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Microsoft Azure Az-104 certification or equivalent competency.

Pay

Gross annual base salary: USD 114,000 - 148,000. Additional variable compensation and benefits may apply based on experience, skills, and location.
