About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to provide direct support to the Survey Manager and lead surveying projects from planning through completion. This role requires extensive knowledge of surveying principles, project management, quality assurance, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor with strong technical and client-facing skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direct support to the Survey Manager.
- Review project documents to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards.
- Apply advanced surveying principles to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Coordinate, organize, and execute multiple surveying assignments simultaneously.
- Supervise survey staff and oversee project deliverables.
- Plan, schedule, and manage project activities, budgets, and timelines.
- Review and approve project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Prepare proposals for professional surveying services and project funding.
- Ensure operational procedures comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Serve as a technical advisor to management and project teams.
- Lead project meetings and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Stay current with industry developments, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
- Minimum 5 years of professional surveying experience.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, standards, and field practices.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and survey teams.
- Ability to work independently and lead multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Active membership in a professional or technical surveying organization.
