Senior Supply Chain Specialist - Logistics
About the role
The Supply Chain team in Gray Court, SC is a highly collaborative group of five professionals, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, and plays a critical role in supporting ZF’s new product launches from a logistics perspective. This Senior Supply Chain Specialist will serve as a key leader within the team, driving logistics project activities to ensure the successful achievement of both internal and customer milestones. Acting as the logistics lead during launch phases, this role coordinates closely across functions to manage pre-series part supply and transmission deliveries, while also supporting phase-out initiatives to minimize obsolescence.
Responsibilities
- Lead logistics projects end-to-end, including launch, pre-series supply, and phase-out activities, while coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Ensure material availability and supply chain continuity by monitoring inventory, vendor performance, and production schedules.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and act as primary liaison with customers, supporting milestones, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Manage supply chain design, cost estimation, and quoting for new and potential business, including presentations for management and customers.
- Improve logistics processes and prevent obsolescence by leading continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and phase-out programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required. (Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration highly preferred).
- 6+ years of progressive supply chain experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
- Proven problem-solving skills and leadership abilities.
- Extensive experience with interpreting and manipulating large amounts of supply chain data.
- Experience with an ERP system (SAP highly preferred).
- Project Management skills, ability to develop and monitor timing plans and master schedule.
