Senior Supply Chain Manager, Capacity Planning, R2L Supply Chain
About the role
Rapid and Rural Logistics is seeking a Sr. Supply Chain Manager with a proven delivery record and project management experience to own and execute strategic, cross-functional operations and technology projects for faster-than-Same-Day operations. The role requires deep fulfillment expertise—including under-the-roof processes, inventory flows, constrained fulfillment-center assets (capacity and labor), quality, and long-term roadmaps—to develop new innovations and shape the future strategy for the same-day program. You will drive end-to-end ownership, challenge existing processes, design sustainable solutions, and influence senior stakeholders while scoping large ambiguous projects, managing timelines, and communicating status, risks, and changes to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Drive innovation that improves under-the-roof processes and continuously removes cost from fulfillment and delivery networks
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan, organize, execute, and standardize complex projects to meet R2L goals
- Gather and analyze data across fulfillment and delivery functions to establish global standards for operations and other cross-functional teams
- Analyze and solve operational barriers with a focus on root-cause understanding and forward-looking opportunities
- Develop Amazon best practices for internal operations
- Leverage analytics to support the future state of the business
- Lead network capacity modeling and optimization across North American SSD facilities, managing multiple delivery streams including SSD, Grocery, Pharmacy, and Hazmat
- Drive weekly operational decisions, strategic planning, and high-visibility events such as Prime Day and Peak seasons
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Design teams to optimize network performance and implement productivity improvements toward 2025 volume targets
- Make data-driven decisions, develop automated capacity planning systems, and create scalable processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics, or a related field
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP, VBA, data links)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or a related field
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL (compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification)
About the Team
The SSD, RSR+, and Perishables Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations for Amazon’s fastest, most complex fulfillment networks, delivering fresh groceries and fast-moving general merchandise. We balance ultra-fast delivery commitments with the unique challenges of perishable inventory and high-velocity general merchandise. Responsibilities include short-term capacity planning to handle daily volume fluctuations, inbound planning and design to optimize product flow, forecasting to anticipate customer demand, and in-stock management to ensure the right products are available at the right time.

Pay
Base salary ranges by location:
- New York, NY: $126,900 – $181,400 USD annually
- Nashville, TN: $103,900 – $148,400 USD annually
- Bellevue, WA: $115,400 – $160,000 USD annually
Compensation includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
