About the role
The Senior Supplier Quality Surveillance Engineer supports Procurement in implementing and executing Supplier Quality Inspections and audits. This role ensures that critical materials and engineered equipment meet or exceed customer and contract quality and workmanship expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality control shop inspections and audits
- Audit and assess suppliers/subcontractors for compliance with Rosendin Procurement quality standards and customer expectations
- Communicate inspection and audit results, recommending necessary corrective actions
- Support divisions and projects in overseeing fabricator and subcontractor quality
- Coordinate with Quality Managers to approve final disposition and sign off on Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
- Provide input on supplier/subcontractor quality ratings
- Lead pre-fabrication meetings, create checklists, write inspection/audit reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Broad working knowledge of design/craft disciplines and engineered equipment/materials associated with renewable energy and electrical projects
- Familiarity with transformer types, switchgear, UPS, BESS, PV inverter modules, wire and cable types
- Knowledge of electrical procurement and vendor surveillance procedures
- Understanding of construction industry codes and standards (IEEE, IECC, NEC, NFPA, NESC, IBC, IFC, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, effective time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional supplier experience
- 5+ years of professional supplier quality experience and a minimum of an associate’s degree in electrical technology
- 3+ years of professional supplier quality experience and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- API SIEE Certification preferred
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification preferred
Skills
- Written and verbal communication skills, including leading pre-fabrication meetings and creating checklists
- Ability to perform inspections and audits, and report findings
- Knowledge of electrical components/systems and their special processes, inspection, and testing techniques
- Experience with supplier audits and assessments
- Ability to communicate effectively with project personnel and management
