About the role

The Lead Superintendent will plan and oversee construction projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, schedules, and safety regulations while managing teams, subcontractors, and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Study specifications to plan construction procedures, including timelines and staffing requirements.
  • Assemble and direct project teams (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and labor) at project start.
  • Order tools and materials to align with work schedules.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to coordinate work phases and prevent delays.
  • Resolve workforce complaints and grievances.
  • Address construction problems and improve methods by collaborating with inspectors and suppliers.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure conformance to specifications and schedules.
  • Prepare or review progress reports, adjust schedules, and track materials and costs.
  • Oversee major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
  • Prepare payroll, per diem, daily reports, safety rosters, and other documentation.
  • Enforce OSHA, client, and company safety rules and regulations.
  • Provide on-the-job training for subordinates.
  • Collaborate with HR and supervisors to hire, transfer, or discipline employees as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years as a Lead Construction Superintendent.
  • Experience with large ($20M+) wood-framed projects.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, cost principles, and project management software.
  • Strong judgment, self-motivation, and results-driven mindset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, adaptability, and attention to detail.
