Senior Superintendent - LCM
Position Summary
The Senior Superintendent reports to the Construction Manager and serves as the senior field operations leader responsible for directing and coordinating Superintendents and other field leadership personnel. This role acts on behalf of Construction Management to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction activities while providing leadership, guidance, and operational oversight to field teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership, mentoring, and development to Superintendents, Foremen, and other site leads.
- Provide overall field leadership and coordination for assigned areas of responsibility on behalf of the Construction Manager.
- Serve as the primary field resource for Superintendents regarding schedule, manpower, productivity, quality, and execution issues.
- Ensure field activities are aligned with project priorities established by Construction Management.
- Act as the primary liaison between field operations and Construction Management to communicate opportunities, risks, schedule impacts, productivity concerns, and resource needs.
- Represent Construction Management in owner, contractor, and coordination meetings as required.
- Escalate issues requiring management action and assist in developing corrective action plans.
- Ensure company installation standards, quality expectations, and best practices are consistently implemented by field leadership.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned across assigned teams.
- Ensure field reporting, documentation, and communication processes are completed consistently.
- Cook up manpower requirements and labor assignments with Superintendents to support project schedules and productivity goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience as a manager of related projects.
- Specific experience in installation of Steel or Aluminum process equipment is desired.
- Ability to effectively represent Construction Management with owners, contractors, OEM representatives, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, manpower, quality, safety, and schedule execution across multiple field teams.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Must be knowledgeable of the company safety policy and familiar and willing to comply with the Quality Control program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Primavera Scheduling software is a plus.
