About the Role
The Senior Superintendent is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety, and managing the day-to-day field operations for their assigned project(s). This includes planning, coordination, sequencing work, procurement of materials, developing the project schedule, and supervising subcontractors and vendors to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget, while adhering to Webcor’s quality standards and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety and site cleanliness on the job site, implementing, enforcing, and managing Webcor’s safety policy and procedures.
- Manage day-to-day field operations, including planning, coordinating, and sequencing work, materials procurement, and supervising subcontractors and vendors.
- Represent the company in negotiations with owners, architects, subcontractors, and others involved in the project.
- Manage and publish subcontractor schedules weekly and review them at subcontractor and OAC meetings.
- Ensure a monthly schedule report is submitted to the owner, adhering to contractual requirements.
- Manage changes in schedule and scope, recognizing and addressing delays and disruptions with proper documentation and notification.
- Assume ownership of the overall budget cost to complete and partner with the Project Management team to align budget and schedule.
- Manage the daily log and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, inspectors, subcontractors, project management, and design teams.
- Lead, develop, and mentor team members, providing timely feedback and fostering a positive team culture.
- Participate in pursuits as required and measure quality and craftsmanship.
- Understand and follow Labor Trade Contracts, with knowledge of Dual Gate Systems.
- Determine man lifts and tower cranes required by OSHA and understand vertical transportation requirements.
- Evaluate hoisting requirements, size and place cranes, and organize and design project site logistics.
- Ensure project controls are aligned and take an active role in subcontract development.
- Develop and implement an OA/OC program and oversee the Webcor Punch List Program.
- Schedule, coordinate, and track required inspections, ensuring they are performed and closed out.
- Evaluate problems and implement appropriate courses of action based on project risk assessment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically, ten years of relevant construction experience with at least three years as a Superintendent.
- OSHA 30 certification required (or any certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, such as STSC or CHST).
- CPR and First Aid/CPR/AED training completion required (Webcor will provide training if not already certified).
- Self-perform experience strongly preferred.
- Bi-lingual abilities a plus.
Skills
- Strategic knowledge of work sequencing and scope development in collaboration with team members.
- Thorough understanding of MEPS systems and timing for start-up during TCO/commissioning.
- Extensive knowledge of formwork and construction systems, including their interaction.
- Solid understanding of local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to manage projects from groundbreaking through commissioning and assist with preconstruction activities.
- Strong understanding of all facets of construction.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software, including developing schedules from scratch and maintaining recovery schedules.
- Ability to execute a site-specific safety plan.
- Strategic leadership and management abilities, including training, employee development, and motivation.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for various audiences.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Advanced customer focus and ability to work cohesively with others.
- Ownership mentality and responsibility.
Pay
Range of base pay is $165,000 - $227,500. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
