Senior Superintendent
Description
The PENTA Building Group is seeking Senior Superintendents to join their Hard Rock Casino Tejon team in Mettler, CA (Bakersfield).
Responsibilities
- Champion PENTA’s safety culture on the jobsite, ensuring compliance with OSHA and corporate safety manuals.
- Create and lead agenda for field subcontractor coordination meetings and owner's meetings.
- Lead the start-up process and enforce PENTA’s project start-up policies and procedures.
- Oversee the submittal/approval/delivery process to avoid construction schedule delays.
- Recognize and address unusual conditions affecting deliveries.
- Ensure daily reports are written, reviewed for quality, and action items are addressed.
- Manage hoisting plan requirements, including crane and personnel hoists.
- Work with Project Managers on buy-out and procurement for all project areas.
- Maintain budget compliance by monitoring crew sizes.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings to develop crew sizes, production rates, and equipment needs.
- Create and schedule life safety system testing scenarios, including coordinating contractors and areas.
- Develop and update the project master schedule, coordinate with subcontractors, and enforce durations.
- Understand and participate in de-scope meetings, and assist in the development of subcontract Exhibit A.
- Review the PCO log weekly with the project team.
- Lead, teach, and mentor other project team members such as Project Engineers, Interns, Superintendents, etc.
- Assist with resolving design team issues and lead BIM/VDC coordination meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in a Construction Superintendent role, or 10+ years of equivalent field-related management experience.
- Experience working on commercial hospitality and/or tribal construction projects is highly preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification is required.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings.
- Proficiency in using programs such as P6, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Build.
- Certain understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing.
- Strong verbal and written communication, and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility and eagerness to embrace new technology and tools in the industry.
Qualifications
- Flexibility to work on-site at the Tejon Hard Rock Casino jobsite in Mettler, CA, or to travel to or relocate for this project if not within a reasonable local commuting distance.
Benefits
Salary range determined by DOE: $120,000 - $170,000. The PENTA Building Group maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. The pay range may differ in other locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors and is in good faith and/or offer for this position. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
