About the Role

The Senior Superintendent is a key field leader responsible for managing all on-site construction for a dedicated project, ensuring schedule, quality, safety, and trade coordination are executed at the highest level. In addition to leading their project, this role plays a strategic part in company-wide initiatives—such as field operations improvement, talent development, safety culture, and process standardization. The ideal candidate excels at driving project results while advancing broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for field management of dedicated project
• Leads and models safety as a core guiding principle
• Builds the project and holds teams accountable to proper housekeeping of project site
• Works with Pre-Construction and PM team to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirements
• Effectively plans the project (constructability reviews, key plans, etc.)
• Performs a detailed review of project documents to stay ahead of RFIs and future coordination issues
• Communicates any material delivery needs to project team so they can prioritize and expedite
• Leads effective subcontractor schedule coordination meetings and addresses issues that may arise
• Responsible for daily reports, progress reports, and compliance reports
• Assists in development, planning, and updating of overall project schedule
• Proactively identifies problems and implements solutions in time to maintain workflow
• Plans and establishes the flow of the work activities on the project
• Manages inspections by all agencies including consultants and local AHJ
• Ensures all installed material is per specifications and submittals
• Drives project closeout and owner turnover
• Demonstrates adherence to EC policy and processes
• Strategic partner in company-wide initiatives
• Leader in bootcamps
• Provides on-the-job mentoring/training to other field personnel as requested
• Works closely with General Superintendent, Asst. General Superintendents, & Operations Manager for continuous improvement in field management

Requirements

• Minimum of ten years related construction experience and/or training
• Minimum of two Elmington projects as Superintendent
• A degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering is preferred but can be substituted with experience

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to work outside on construction site including all types of weather (extremes of hot/cold)
• Will be working in a temporary facility/structure
• Able to stand; crawl; climb ladders & stairs; balance; stoop and kneel; etc. (physical activities associated with construction sites)
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally work in high, precarious places
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
• Able to recognize hazards or potential hazards and react accordingly to protect the workforce and provide OSHA-compliant safeguards
