Senior Substation Protection Engineer

About the role

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials. This position is available in the Portland, OR office (Tigard, OR).

Responsibilities

• Configure and produce engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations.
• Work with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects ranging from 4.16 kV to 500 kV.
• Develop one-line, three-line, schematic, and wiring diagrams for high voltage substation projects.
• Train less experienced staff in power system protection and control.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

• BSEE or MSEE degree required.
• At least 5 years of experience specifying, configuring, and producing engineering drawings for high voltage substations.
• Extensive background in power system protection and control.
• Proven experience managing a team.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and writing skills.

Qualifications
