About the role
ECI is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials. This position is available in the Ontario, CA office.
Responsibilities
- Configure and produce engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations.
- Design the installation of RTUs, DDFRs, PMUs, ethernet switches, and HMI systems.
- Work with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects 4.16 kV through 500 kV.
- Produce one-line, three-line, schematics, panel elevations, and wiring diagrams for high voltage substation projects.
- Train less experienced staff in power system protection and control.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements
- BSEE with 6+ years of experience specifying, configuring, and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations.
- An extensive background in power system protection and control.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with Southern California Edison (SCE) standards is preferred.
- Proven experience managing a team and excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.

Pay
Compensation range: $119,000 - $217,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience and education.
