Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Estimating and Project Management, with at least 5 years specifically in substation construction.
  • Proficiency in project management software, including Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Job and Primavera.
  • Extensive knowledge of union agreements and labor law compliance.
  • Strong data and cost analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data and make strategic decisions.
  • Experience working with an industrial electrical contractor organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex project details to stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Proven track record of successful project management, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for large-scale substation construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to develop project strategies and plans.
  • Utilize software such as HCSS Heavy Job and Primavera for project planning and cost estimation.
  • Analyze and interpret project data to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
  • Negotiate and manage union agreements, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with an industrial electrical contractor organization to ensure all electrical components of the project are properly estimated and executed.
  • Maintain project progress, making adjustments to estimates as necessary to reflect changes in project scope or timeline.
  • Present estimates and project plans to stakeholders, providing clear and concise explanations for all cost and timeline projections.

About the Role

Jobot is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Estimator for a leading industrial electrical contractor specializing in high-voltage power delivery projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating substation construction and maintenance projects, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, industry codes, and utility standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects while collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and clients.
