Senior Structural Steel Detailer

About the role

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Senior Structural Steel Detailer to join their expanding team. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality structural steel fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead Revit modeling and detailing for complex projects, define standards, and ensure deliverables meet fabrication and erection requirements with minimal oversight
• Own larger scopes of fabrication projects, develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures
• Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent
• Resolve complex connections and clashes, performing QA/QC final checks
• Produce shop drawings, erection drawings, BOMs and NC files, and material take-offs
• Cookordination with engineers, project managers, junior detailers, and fabrication shop personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Estimate efforts and support client communications when necessary
• Review and check drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with project standards
• Manage revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist in resolving design and fabrication issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Revit Detailer (structural steel) with leadership experience
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures
• Strong knowledge of AISC codes, engineering judgement, and relevant industry standards
• Experience with clash detection and coordination
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Revit Detailer (structural steel)
• Ability to work independently while leading projects for the detailing team
• Experience with fabrication shops or on-site construction teams
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and integration
