Responsibilities

  • Structural design of complex waterway structures (e.g., locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts).
  • Prepare construction design documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Perform quality reviews of drawings and work products from CAD designers and junior engineers.
  • Serve as a technical contact for client, other design professionals, and contractors.
  • Serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research.
  • May stamp/sign drawings or reports or serve as Engineer of Record for the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required.
  • Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification is required; PE license or the ability to become licensed within 12 months is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience on complex structural projects is required.
  • Experience with various structural engineering software analysis packages (i.e.: SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro).
  • Prior experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures and Dam Safety Guidelines is a plus.
  • Occasional overnight travel for site visits and/or meetings, as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Pay

$96,000 to $122,300 per year (depending on qualifications)
