Senior Structural Professional Engineer

About the role

Lead the structural design and analysis of building and infrastructure projects while collaborating with Parkhill’s integrated MEP/S team. Deliver innovative, cost-effective, and constructible solutions that meet client expectations and advance the firm’s mission of building stronger communities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans, reports, and studies for review
  • Direct technicians and EITs for production of engineering documents for routine projects accurately and efficiently
  • Interface with clients when appropriate alongside project managers
  • Visit construction sites to observe progress and determine general conformance to engineering plans and specifications
  • Research design criteria, regulations, and standards as they relate to projects and incorporate them into design documents
  • Mentor others in the proficient use of design software
  • Review and approve structural designs for quality and code compliance
  • Provide guidance on complex design issues
  • Lead design teams, including EITs, technicians, and other licensed engineers on large or complex projects
  • Manage design effort including planning hours for members of the structural project team
  • Actively develop EITs and mid-level engineers
  • Manage project health including fees, schedule, and hours for their projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency with Revit/BIM
  • Minimum 15 years of structural building design experience in a consulting role
