About the role
The Senior Structural Engineer will play a key role in the planning, analysis, and delivery of medium‑ to large‑scale mission‑critical facilities. This position combines advanced technical work with coordination responsibilities, mentorship, and exposure to clients and project leadership.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Perform structural analysis and design for complex building systems
- Develop calculations, drawings, and technical documentation aligned with project schedules and budgets
- Support the Engineer of Record while contributing technical direction on assigned projects
- Guide detailing decisions and system selection with input from senior leadership
- Cook up closely with architectural, MEP, and specialty consultants
- Participate in construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and reporting
- Maintain technical quality and contribute to internal peer reviews and process improvements
- Manage multiple mission‑critical projects concurrently
Team & Project Support
- Absorb work planning, resource allocation, and fee tracking
- Support and lead design coordination meetings
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff development efforts
- Provide input on performance feedback and training needs
Client & Business Engagement
- Participate in client, consultant, and contractor meetings
- Assist with proposal development and interview preparation for mission‑critical pursuits
- Build relationships with industry partners and attend relevant technical events
Requirements
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural focus required
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- Minimum 7 years of structural design experience
- EIT required; PE strongly preferred
- SE license a plus
