Senior Structural Design Engineer - Wichita - 10211

About the role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Design Engineer to support a leading organization in the aviation industry. This full-time, onsite role based in Wichita, Kansas, plays a critical role in resolving complex design challenges, supporting aircraft modifications, and contributing to cutting-edge engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Investigate design build issues and develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions
• Author temporary engineering to resolve build issues in a timely manner
• Disposition aircraft non-conformances including rework instructions (MRB)
• Perform aircraft and engineering drawing investigation and coordination with affected engineering disciplines, Quality Assurance, and operations manufacturing representatives
• Design Flight Test engineering change requests and coordinate with work package owners
• Author engineering to define structural special instructions or restrictions
• Design and Release Special Missions Engineering structural and systems installations

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years industry experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
• Experience in Special Missions or Aftermarket modifications is required
• Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications is required
• Experience of leading a team of engineers is required
• Minimum of 15,000 hours on CATIA V5
• Proficient in CATIA V5 Workbenches: Assembly Design, Part Design (Boolean Operations), Aerospace Sheetmetal, Tubing Design, Kinematics and Electrical Harness Routing
• Experience in Siemens NX is a plus
• Experience in Teamcenter PLM is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited University
• Experience in leading a team of engineers is required
• Must have a minimum of 15,000 hours on CATIA V5
• Proficient in CATIA V5 Workbenches: Assembly Design, Part Design (Boolean Operations), Aerospace Sheetmetal, Tubing Design, Kinematics and Electrical Harness Routing
• Experience in Siemens NX is a plus
• Experience in Teamcenter PLM is a plus
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be a highly motivated, self-starter
• Must have proficiency with MS Office tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
