Senior Strategic Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and draft implementation plans for production process optimization
• Seek out ways to maximize efficiency by eliminating waste of valuable resources, impacting overall operating costs
• Contribute to the manufacturing of Smithfield, Eckrich, Nathan’s Famous, and other product brands to meet customer needs
• Apply engineering principles to design and develop technical projects for the pork and packaged meat industry
• Lead multiple teams on projects, providing direction and coaching to ensure successful outcomes
• Anticipate external business, vendor, and regulatory issues, providing proactive solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of experience in team management or project leadership
• Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues
• Experience in project management, contract administration, and national codes and standards interpretation
• Previous experience managing multi-million dollar projects with large scopes
• Proficiency in engineering economics, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Respectful, approachable, and team-oriented behavior
