About the Role

Senior Strategic Planner based at MacDill AFB, Florida. This role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and involves supervising plans and order development for joint combatant command-level planning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze COA decisions, mission statements, commander’s intent, and guidance to develop plans and/or orders that direct subordinate actions.
  • Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and production of all task order activities.
  • Provide analyses, recommendations, and draft products for joint planning teams and working group approval in developing orders, analysis, estimates, and briefings for USCENTCOM leadership and primary staff.
  • Assist with evaluations and recommendations to respective CCJ5 branches as they direct, coordinate, and conduct joint combatant command-level planning processes.
  • Supervise all aspects of the Joint Operational Planning Process, including:
    • Mission Analysis
    • Course of Action (COA) Development
    • COA Analysis (Wargaming)
    • COA Comparison and Decision
  • Conduct orderly handover of plans into orders for execution.
  • Provide staff with situational awareness and rationale for key decisions to ensure a coherent transition from planning to execution.
  • Facilitate coordination across working groups, Operational Planning Teams (OPT), and admin support staff in support of plans and activities.
  • Assist with the management of working groups by contributing to report preparation, conducting analytical and statistical research, and providing alternative solutions and assessments of long-range impacts.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from a Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS), School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS), or Senior Service College equivalent program.
  • Minimum of 10 years of planning experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of planning experience at the Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters.
  • Experience in joint strategic planning.
  • Travel required to AOR (Area of Responsibility).

Other Requirements
