Senior Strategic Buyer

The Sr. Buyer is a senior-level position responsible for leading complex procurement projects and initiatives, conducting advanced sourcing and purchasing activities, performing in-depth cost analysis, and developing strategies to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves mentoring and training junior buyers and providing technical expertise to support continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and source potential suppliers
- Review and analyze supplier proposals
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
- Maintain and update supplier database
- Negotiate And Manage Contracts:
- Review and negotiate contracts for goods and services
- Ensure contracts comply with company policies and legal requirements
- Monitor contract performance and make necessary adjustments
- Evaluate and resolve contract disputes
- Strategic Planning And Analysis:
- Analyze market trends and identify potential opportunities for cost savings
- Develop and implement procurement strategies
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators
- Conduct market research and benchmarking
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance
- Resolve any issues or conflicts with suppliers
- Identify and develop new supplier partnerships
- Cost Management:
- Monitor and control costs related to procurement
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Conduct cost analysis and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints
- Compliance And Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain
- Develop and implement risk management strategies
- Monitor and report on compliance and risk management measures

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience, or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts
- In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices
- Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems
